Waste Information

Most paper oils are natural products and as such are not considered hazardous waste, but they can also include solvents, which are hazardous waste. Check the contents from package markings. Oily rags may combust when the oxygen in the air reacts with the oil. Spontaneous combustion may occur even several hours after the rag is used.  Moisten wood-oily cloths and pack them in a tight plastic bag or jar to prevent the risk of fire.
